Multiple Date Events Morning and Evening Walk-ups for Meditation Garden
Daily throughout the year, there is a special period of time for free admission walk-up visits to the Meditation Garden at Graceland. Elvis Week morning walk-ups will be from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. on August 8-15. Morning walk-ups will not be available on August 16 due to Candlelight Vigil. Elvis Week evening walk-ups will be 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on August 8-14 and on August 16. Evening walk-ups will not be available on August 15 due to the Candlelight Vigil.

Last Chance Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest at the Memphis Hard Rock CafeAugust 8-10. Times TBD. Memphis Hard Rock Cafe, 315 Beale Street, Memphis. Elvis tribute artists will have the chance to compete for one final spot in the semifinal round of the 2009 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest. More details to come.

Original paintings created by The River City Artists to commemorate Graceland’s 70th Anniversary, on display and available for purchase in the Visitors Center Gallery. Session 1 will feature The Memphis Boys, joined by Ernst Jorgensen, who will be on stage to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of their historic American Studio session with Elvis that resulted in "Suspicious Minds," "In the Ghetto" and "Kentucky Rain" among many others. Along with photos, videos and music, host Tom Brown will find out what went on during this amazing session. Elvis Plaque Presentation from Sony Music
5:00 p.m. The Plaza Green at Graceland. Join executives from Sony Music, EPE and fans from around the world for a presentation of plaques that honor Elvis’ recent worldwide gold, silver and platinum achievements.Candlelight Vigil 8:30 p.m. Gates of Graceland Mansion. After an opening ceremony at the gates of the Graceland Mansion property, fans are invited to walk up the driveway to Elvis’s gravesite and back down carrying a candle in quiet remembrance. Free admission. No tickets or reservations. Gates remain open until all who wish to participate in the procession have done so, which typically takes until the early morning hours of August 16, the anniversary date of Elvis’s passing. Free secured parking at the Graceland visitor center complex after 6:00 p.m.

The Official Elvis Insiders 2009 Elvis Week Event Shake, Rattle and Bowl Party
10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Strike Zone Bowling Alley, 3330 Pine Tar Alley, Southaven, Mississippi. Elvis Insiders are invited to shake, rattle and bowl as you meet new Insiders and have fun with old friends during a special event filled with lots of great Elvis-themed fun. This special Elvis Week party is for Elvis Insiders members plus one guest. Elvis Insiders are taking over this premier party space, just 15 minutes from Graceland, for the three-hour event. Activities will include bowling, billiards, an Elvis trivia contest, Elvis karaoke and lots of fun surprises. Elvis clips and music will be playing throughout the entire facility. Special guests The TCB Band, The Sweet Inspirations, The Imperials, Millie Kirkham and Joe Guercio will also be stopping by for an autograph session. Attendees will also enjoy lunch and a cash bar. The Genuine Elvis Book Launch and Autograph Signing
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Everything Elvis Store, Graceland Crossing. Join the authors - country music star Ronnie McDowell, tv personality Edie Hand, and manager and producer Joe Meador - for an autographing event celebrating the launch of this new must-have book for Elvis fans and collectors. The Genuine Elvis includes original paintings from Ronnie McDowell, dozens of remarkable pictures by photography legend Al Wertheimer and the never-before-told story of the exclusive 1956 inteview disc jockey Charles Watts recorded with Elvis and his parents.

Elvis 1969 - A Celebration Concert
8:00 p.m. Cannon Center for the Performing Arts, 255 North Main Street, downtown Memphis. 40 years after Elvis Presley triumphantly returned to the stage at the International Hotel in Las Vegas, Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. will reunite many of the original cast for an Elvis Week 2009 concert celebration. Live musical performances along with video and audio will create a magical music experience that will be almost as exciting as being there in the summer of 1969. Performers currently scheduled to participate include; Joe Guercio, Elvis’ orchestra conductor for many of his Vegas performances; The TCB Band members James Burton, Ronnie Tutt, Jerry Scheff and Glen D Hardin; Elvis’ back up singers The Imperials, including Joe Moscheo, Terry Blackwood, Sherman Andrus and Gus Gaches, The Sweet Inspirations, including Myrna Smith, Estelle Brown, Portia Griffin, and Millie Kirkham. Fan Club Presidents’ Event
2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Fogelman Executive Conference Center, University of Memphis. Elvis fans are invited to celebrate the work of Elvis Presley fan clubs during this special event. In addition to celebrating and recognizing the work of fan clubs, the event will feature a program of EPE company updates and special announcements. Also, attendees to the event will enjoy a feature segment with a special guest. Special guest will be Michael Hoey, who wrote the screenplays for two Elvis Presley films –– Stay Away, Joe and Live a Little, Love a Little, and was a contributing writer on four more Presley films (Tickle Me, Spinout, Speedway and Double Trouble), as well as an Associate Producer on two of them. . Official Elvis Presley Fan Club presidents will receive an invitation and registration form via mail to reserve their tickets for the event. Graceland Scavenger Hunt - Bears on Tour
5:00 p.m. Starting at the Graceland Ticket Office. Guests are invited to tour Graceland Mansion (no audio tour) and the Elvis Presley Automobile Museum while simultaneously participating in a trivia scavenger hunt. All participants receive a collectible, limited-edition bear. Adult and junior versions of the scavenger hunt will be available. Prizes for both adult and junior versions to be announced. The top finalists from semifinal round on August 12 will compete for the title of Elvis Tribute Artist of 2009. Two-day tickets are $139 and $69 (includes both semifinal and final round).
